One size doesn’t fit all, especially when it comes to stand-up paddleboards. While it is true that a medium-sized board will accommodate a wide variety of riders, having a professional-sized board for you will ensure you are on equipment that is most appropriate for your frame. Having the right stand-up paddleboard size ensures better performance and comfort tailored specifically to your body and skill level. So why can’t we all just ride big boards? Frequently,...
How can you keep your beautiful Three Brothers SUP looking new? After purchasing your board, one of the first accessories to invest in is a board bag or at least a board sock. A padded board bag insulates your board from mild abrasions during transport and storage. They are also reflective to keep the sun off the surface of your board. The board is designed for outdoor use and stays cool by remaining in the water....
In 2013, nearly 2 million new participants took to the sport of stand-up paddleboarding, according to the Outdoor Industry Association. The options for these new paddlers include touring, SUP surfing, fitness/yoga, racing and fishing. After having checked off a couple of requisite boxes in the SUP bucket list, the topic of fishing from a SUP frequently arises. Usually in a "hey, can you really fish from these?" kinda way, in the same way one would...
The road to the Sharkbite Challenge was a long one this time around. As a competitive SUP racer living on the Gulf Coast, I eagerly look forward to open water races and was excited to race the Sharkbite Challenge in 2016. I had participated in the event for several years and improved each time. However, high winds and waves forced the cancellation of the 2016 Sharkbite Challenge on race day. Fast forward to 2017 and the...

People frequently ask me to comment on purchasing a paddleboard. As a long-time Three Brothers Board rider, I hold strong convictions, but I share my unbiased (well, mostly unbiased) opinion whenever asked. One of the first questions I ask a person is what they intend to do with their board. Will they be fishing, surfing, touring with a group, racing, or practicing yoga on it? Usually, a person just starting out may not know exactly...

Classic Paddle Boards, Endless Lifestyle
Throughout time, designs, looks, and styles come and go. Some shockingly come back and others are gone for good. There are exceptions, however. Certain designs are timeless and here to stay. They looked amazing when first introduced 60 years ago and are still amazing today. We refer to this as a classic. A 330 Ferrari, a Chris Craft Boat, a Woodie surfboard… all classics, things that never go out of style.
At Three Brothers Boards, we don’t want your board to just look good for a year, or even for the next ten. We want your paddle board to be a classic. It will be a board that looks great and is in-style forever. This is why our designs go back in time to the era of the classic - the Woodies. All of our designs are inspired by those classic paddle boards from the 1950’s and 1960’s. Our goal for your paddle board is simple - when retiring your board after decades of use, your grandchildren will be fighting over who gets to display it in their home. Now that's a classic.
