Helpful paddle board tips, product reviews, and the best Florida has to offer.
When is the time to consider the purchase of your kid’s first SUP? Many families purchase a stand-up paddle board to begin paddling and then add a second board as the family starts to venture out on day trips. Loading up coolers and small children, 70 lbs and lighter, that typically ride on the board with their parents is common. Stable boards such as the Jason Ryan or Blondie are a good choice for families....
Daytona Beach has a long history with racing roots and was titled “The World’s Most Famous Beach” in the early 1900s. With an ideal climate, the area experiences temperatures averaging between 59F in the winter and 78F in the summer. Daytona Beach, Florida is a popular destination for its white sand, motorsport events, and hospitality. Of course paddle boarding is one of our favorite ways to experience Daytona Beach! Three Brothers Adventure Tours has been...
Our modern world is chock-full of activities for our families to participate in. Soccer for kids, yoga for mom, golf for dad. We run around from one activity to the next so everyone gets time to enjoy their activity. Recreation is scheduled and executed with precise pickup and drop-off times that would make an air traffic controller envious. With the surgical precision comes monotony, and before you know it, the very thing we were looking...
Improve your SUP skills with yoga, or, conversely, improve your yoga skills with SUP. Whether you are an accomplished paddler or a land lubber yogi, SUP yoga can help you improve your skills. The parallels between the two are numerous. While both are, or can be, a form of exercise, both can be very relaxing and Zen-like. SUP can be very vigorous or it can be a slow, calming paddle through your favorite flat-water paradise....
As a paddle coach, one of the most frequent questions I answer is, “How do I go faster or farther?” Typically, working on stroke technique is the first step in improving both. For these purposes, we will assume you have worked with a SUP instructor to improve your SUP speed technique and that you have selected a fast hull, such as the Three Brothers Boards Irish Twin or Racer. In order to maximize the potential...

Now that you have invested in a brand-new standup paddleboard, it’s important for you to take the time needed to keep your board in pristine condition. Fortunately, with just a few simple habits, paddleboard maintenance becomes easy and keeps your board looking brand new for years to come. Wash your SUP after EVERY use. Not after every other use, but every single time you use your board, wash it. All it takes is a quick...
English composer Harry Dacre wrote the old song Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built for Two) in 1892 after being charged import duty on his bicycle when arriving in the United States. The song features the now-famous lyric “a bicycle built for two.” Another composer joked, "Lucky you didn't bring a bicycle built for two, otherwise you'd have to pay double duty”. Dacre was so impacted by the term “bicycle built for two” that he quickly used...
Classic Paddle Boards, Endless Lifestyle
Throughout time, designs, looks, and styles come and go. Some shockingly come back and others are gone for good. There are exceptions, however. Certain designs are timeless and here to stay. They looked amazing when first introduced 60 years ago and are still amazing today. We refer to this as a classic. A 330 Ferrari, a Chris Craft Boat, a Woodie surfboard… all classics, things that never go out of style.
At Three Brothers Boards, we don’t want your board to just look good for a year, or even for the next ten. We want your paddle board to be a classic. It will be a board that looks great and is in-style forever. This is why our designs go back in time to the era of the classic - the Woodies. All of our designs are inspired by those classic paddle boards from the 1950’s and 1960’s. Our goal for your paddle board is simple - when retiring your board after decades of use, your grandchildren will be fighting over who gets to display it in their home. Now that's a classic.
