English composer Harry Dacre wrote the old song Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built for Two) in 1892 after being charged import duty on his bicycle when arriving in the United States. The song features the now-famous lyric “a bicycle built for two.” Another composer joked, "Lucky you didn't bring a bicycle built for two, otherwise you'd have to pay double duty”. Dacre was so impacted by the term “bicycle built for two” that he quickly used...
A Three Brothers Boards paddleboard tour made the news on Friday, April 22, 2011. Participants witnessed a manatee give birth to two calves in the Halifax River around City Island in Daytona Beach. Tour guide Austin Marvin of Three Brothers Boards in Daytona Beach, FL, captured the rare event on video. The paddleboarders heard the water moving and saw a manatee surface with a red patch of water. Moments later, a baby calf appeared. A...
One size doesn’t fit all, especially when it comes to stand-up paddleboards. While it is true that a medium-sized board will accommodate a wide variety of riders, having a professional-sized board for you will ensure you are on equipment that is most appropriate for your frame. Having the right stand-up paddleboard size ensures better performance and comfort tailored specifically to your body and skill level. So why can’t we all just ride big boards? Frequently,...
One of the questions that new paddlers frequently ask (as well as a few veterans) is Where do I position my fin? Before answering this, you have to determine what type of paddling you will be doing. Are you planning to paddle long distances in a straight line? Navigating a narrow river with sharp turns? Or are you heading out to catch some waves? Modern stand up paddleboards generally have an adjustable center fin. By...

Before loading your Great Dane, Python, or Goldfish up there are a few considerations. Is your pet comfortable around water? Classic Paddle Boards, Endless Lifestyle
Throughout time, designs, looks, and styles come and go. Some shockingly come back and others are gone for good. There are exceptions, however. Certain designs are timeless and here to stay. They looked amazing when first introduced 60 years ago and are still amazing today. We refer to this as a classic. A 330 Ferrari, a Chris Craft Boat, a Woodie surfboard… all classics, things that never go out of style.
At Three Brothers Boards, we don’t want your board to just look good for a year, or even for the next ten. We want your paddle board to be a classic. It will be a board that looks great and is in-style forever. This is why our designs go back in time to the era of the classic - the Woodies. All of our designs are inspired by those classic paddle boards from the 1950’s and 1960’s. Our goal for your paddle board is simple - when retiring your board after decades of use, your grandchildren will be fighting over who gets to display it in their home. Now that's a classic.
