The song features the now-famous lyric “a bicycle built for two.” Another composer joked, "Lucky you didn't bring a bicycle built for two, otherwise you'd have to pay double duty”. Dacre was so impacted by the term “bicycle built for two” that he quickly used...

Classics Never Get Old

Ernest Hemingway carried a Brownie camera and a Swiss Army knife, while cruising in a 1930s Ford Woodie or a Volkswagen Bus. Wingtip shoes, the Beach Boys, a John Deere tractor, a 1950s jukebox, and the classic Woody surf board complete the timeless scene. All timeless classics deeply engrave themselves in American culture from the past century. Those of us handed down a family heirloom understand the true timelessness of certain items. Whether it be...

Kid’s first SUP

When is the time to consider the purchase of your kid’s first SUP? Many families purchase a stand-up paddle board to begin paddling and then add a second board as the family starts to venture out on day trips. Loading up coolers and small children, 70 lbs and lighter, that typically ride on the board with their parents is common. Stable boards such as the Jason Ryan or Blondie are a good choice for families....

The True Cost of a Purchase

People frequently ask me to comment on purchasing a paddleboard. As a long-time Three Brothers Board rider, I hold strong convictions, but I share my unbiased (well, mostly unbiased) opinion whenever asked. One of the first questions I ask a person is what they intend to do with their board. Will they be fishing, surfing, touring with a group, racing, or practicing yoga on it? Usually, a person just starting out may not know exactly...

Classic Paddle Boards, Endless Lifestyle

Throughout time, designs, looks, and styles come and go. Some shockingly come back and others are gone for good. There are exceptions, however.  Certain designs are timeless and here to stay.  They looked amazing when first introduced 60 years ago and are still amazing today. We refer to this as a classic. A 330 Ferrari, a Chris Craft Boat, a Woodie surfboard… all classics, things that never go out of style.

At Three Brothers Boards, we don’t want your board to just look good for a year, or even for the next ten.  We want your paddle board to be a classic. It will be a board that looks great and is in-style forever. This is why our designs go back in time to the era of the classic - the Woodies. All of our designs are inspired by those classic paddle boards from the 1950’s and 1960’s.  Our goal for your paddle board is simple - when retiring your board after decades of use, your grandchildren will be fighting over who gets to display it in their home. Now that's a classic.
